Magpie did an awesome job of recapping yesterday’s testimony so I’ll keep my review brief. The first witness up was Susan Mears, who was on the stand earlier this week. Ms. Mears was asked if she received the Gatorade Bottle and Disney bag it was found in at the remains scene. And that’s about all that happened with this witness.

Then the defense called Stephen Shaw back to the stand. If you’ll recall Shaw was the FBI trace evidence unit analyst who did the study on 600 hairs taken from living people and placed in varying environments for varying amounts of time to see if any of the hairs showed post mortem type banding from environmental effects. And if you’ll recall the answer defense argued vigorously, and successfully, to keep a powerpoint of images from that study from being used as a demonstrative aid by the State.
