Attorney criticizes report that Casey Anthony's parents do not believe she is innocent

ORLANDO -- The attorney for the Anthony family is clarifying his comments to a CNN reporter about the case.

CNN reported Wednesday night that George and Cindy Anthony do not believe Casey Anthony is innocent. This was based on a conversation between a reporter and attorney Mark Lippman.

However, Lippman said in a news conference Thursday that the Anthonys said they want the truth, and they do not know what that is.

"I said they don't necessarily believe she is not innocent," Lippman recalls.

He then went on to say that the CNN reporter did not get the full context of the remark.

"They do not know where or not she is guilty of the crimes that have been alleged," Lippman said. "Certainly we know that she is not guilty of anything the state has not proven yet. She's still not guilty until the jury comes back and makes a determination as to what happened."
