TAFT, Calif. -- Deputies in Taft are searching
for a 15-year-old girl who has been missing for a week. But her family
fears she may already have been taken to Mexico.Alisa Wheeler walked away from her home in Taft in the middle of the night. Now deputies and her family are trying to find her.Alisa turned 15 just two weeks ago, but her mom says she has already experienced a side of life most of us would never want to.



"She had told me that she had be
doing crystal meth for about the last month… She was at the party, she
was drunk and supposedly drugged and four men had sexual relationship
with my daughter that night," Alisa’s mom Sheri Simonek said.Simonek
said she has fought to keep her daughter on the straight and narrow,
and until recently she thought she had rescued her from a life of
addiction and sex."She is amazing and I don’t know how she is
caught up with these kids and just that wrong crowd and why. I don’t
understand it… I sometimes feel like I failed as a parent," Simonek
said.Alisa's mom says she simply walked away at midnight last Monday."I just want her home. I want her safe. This is a parents worst nightmare," Simonek said.Deputies
think Alisa may have left with a 20-year-old man known only as "Roi"
Simonek said Wheeler considers "Roi" her boyfriend. And the pair may be
headed for Mexico.Alisa's mom worries her daughter may be sold into the sex trade there."I feel if she goes down to Mexico and gets in that I am never going to see my daughter again," Simonek said.And Sheri has a message for her daughter."Alley Cat I love you and I want you to come home," Simonek said.Deputies
say the man known as "Roi" drives a white four-door Honda. If you have
any information about Alisa, call deputies at 861-3110.

Taft, Calif. —

The Kern County Sheriff’s Office is again asking the publics’
assistance in locating an at risk runaway juvenile from Taft who has not
been seen for more than a month.
Alisa Wheeler was last seen in the Taft area on June 21.
She may be with an adult Hispanic male known as “Roi”. He possibly drives a light grey colored small SUV type vehicle.
Alisa has told family members that she may be going to Mexico.
She is considered at risk because family members are concerned that if she does leave the country she may be exploited.
To date, detectives have been unable to locate her. Anyone with
information on Alisa’s whereabouts or with information on “Roi” is asked
to call the Kern County Sheriff’s Office at 661-861-3110, the Taft
Substation at 661-763-8550 or Secret Witness at 661-322-4040.

TAFT, Calif. -- A Taft teen missing for nearly
four months contacts her mom on the internet. 15-year-old Alisa Wheeler
disappeared back in June. No one had seen or heard from her until
Friday.When Alisa vanished it was believed she went to Mexico
with her adult boyfriend. Now the family says she is still in Mexico but
now with a different man.Alisa Wheeler went missing around
midnight on June 21. Her family believes she left with her adult
boyfriend known as Roi. Investigators feared if Alisa made it to Mexico,
she would be sold into the sex trade.
The four months since her disappearance have been a nightmare for her mom."It’s
gotten me to the point that I am in counseling. I’ve started counseling
for myself and my kids that I have at home," said Alisa’s mom Sheri
Simonek.Then out of the blue she heard from Alisa on Facebook on Friday.
"She told me over and over again how sorry she is she let me down," Simonek said.
Alisa's mom says her daughter did go to Mexico with her then boyfriend,
but things changed when they got there"When she I guess got down there,
he was married and she left," Simonek said.Her mom feels that in order to survive in Mexico,
Alisa latched onto another man."She says that she is now in Mexico,
she is married, and she is pregnant," Simonek said.All
Alisa will tell her mom about her new husband is that he is 23 years
old, and his name is Chino. Alisa says she is three months pregnant and
living in Baja California, but won’t say where."I believe she
wants to come home, but she is scared for the man she is with now
thinking that he is going to go to jail," Simonek said.Alisa's mom says she wants
her daughter home so badly she is willing to pay for her and her new husband to come to Taft."If
that’s what makes her happy and for her to come home, I will help him.
Whatever I have to do to get his papers," Simonek said.She says she is looking
for help sorting through the legal questions involved."She
is 15 and she is legal in Mexico, and they assume that she went there
willing and that’s why they won’t go down there and get her," Simonek
said.Alisa's mom says she spoke to her daughter through Facebook
twice over the weekend. She hopes she will continue to talk to her and
eventually persuade her to come home.

and married to an older man after disappearing to Mexico has come to an
end after the girl returned home.

Mrs Simonek told her mother that she was living in Baja California, one of the 32
Federal Entities of Mexico, and wanted to come home.

ABC affiliate KERO23 reported that the teen split from Roi after discovering that he was married, and later married Chino.
Investigators
feared she would be sold into the sex trade if she made it to the
border - approximately 250 miles from her Taft, California home.

She reportedly revealed to her mother via Facebook that she had been using meth before travelling to Mexico.

'She told me over and over again how sorry she is she let me down,' Mrs Simonek said last week.
But on Tuesday, Alisa was able to get to the U.S. Embassy in Mexico City, and FBI officials arranged to have her flown home.
Mrs Simonek said she offered to
pay for her daughter and new son-in-law to come to Taft to bring Alisa
home, but her daughter came alone.
Kern County Sheriff's spokesman Ray Pruitt told MailOnline that the case was
made difficult because a 15-year-old is considered an adult in Mexico.
Mr Pruitt said: 'As far as Mexican authorities were concerned, she was an
adult, much easier to take a child into protective custody than an adult.'

He added that there are still other aspects of the case that remain part of an ongoing investigation.


Desperate: Mrs Simonek said she had offered to pay for her daughter and son-in-law to come to Taft to bring Alisa home

On Tuesday night, the girl arrived at Meadows Field in Bakersfield and embraced her mother.

Alisa has disclosed little information about her new husband, a 23-year-old named Chino.

As for Roi, he also remains in Mexico, Pruitt said.
