Amber alert issued for missing West Sacramento children


An amber alert has been issued regarding a possible child abduction from a West Sacramento residence.


The public is being asked to be on the look out for a black 1993
Mercedes 300 SE license plate 6THU701, according to the alert put out at
5:30 p.m. Monday. Dmitriy V. Gerasimov, 30, forcibly abducted three
children from their mother's West Sacramento home at 6 p.m. Dec. 3,
according to the highway patrol.


The missing children are Vitaliy Gerasimov, 7; Alisa Gerasimov, 4; and Valeriy Gerasimov, 2, the CHP said.


Vitaliy is described as a white male, 4 feet 5 inches tall, 130 lbs, with brown hair and hazel eyes.
Alisa is 3 feet 3 inches tall approximately 55 lbs with brown hair and brown eyes.
Valeriy is 3 feet tall, 30 lbs with brown hair and brown eyes.


Gerasimov is 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighting 146 lbs, with brown hair and brown eyes

An Amber
Alert has been issued in Yolo and Sacramento counties for three children
who were abducted Saturday by their biological father.
The father has a history of domestic violence and methamphetamine use, according to law enforcement.
The Gerasimov children -- ages 7, 4, and 2 -- were taken from 630 Cummins Way in West Sacramento.
Vitaliy,
7, has brown hair and hazel eyes. He is 4 feet 11 inches tall and
weighs about 130 pounds. Valeriy, 2, has brown hair and brown eyes. He
weighs about 30 pounds and is about 3 feet tall. Alisa, 4, has brown
hair and brown eyes. She is about 3 feet 3 inches tall and weighs 55
pounds.
They are believed to be with Dmitriy Gerasimov, 30, who
has brown hair, brown eyes, stands about 5 feet 11 inches tall, and
weighs about 146 pounds.
They may be traveling in a black Mercedes-Benz 300SE with a California license plate No. 6THU701.

An Amber Alert issued earlier Monday was canceled at about 10:15 Monday night and the suspect arrested after the three children reported missing were found save in El Dorado County, according to West Sacramento police.

Police are working to reunite the children with their mother. No other details were immediately available.

The three children were abducted in West Sacramento over the weekend by their father, who is estranged from the children's mother.

Dmitry Gerasimov was the man police had been looking for since Saturday when he allegedly beat up his wife and assaulted their 1-year-old son at their West Sacramento home in 600 block of Cummins at around 7 p.m. Saturday night.

"What had happened was, the husband struck the wife multiple times, and the 1-and-a-half-year-old was thrown across the room," said Lt. Tod Sockman of the West Sacramento Police Department.

Police say Gerasimov then took went to a grandparent's home and forcibly removed his three other children, 7-year-old son Vitaley, who suffers from severe autism, 4-year-old daughter Alisa, and 2-year-old son Valeriy.

On Monday police raised their concern and issued the Amber Alert after Gerasimov called his wife with a threat.

"Today the wife was contacted, by the husband saying if ‘you don't take me back, I plan on taking them with me on the plane and you will not see them again."

Neighbors who live across the street and next door told CBS13 they never saw any trouble coming from their house.

"We're shocked especially around this neighborhood we've never had this problem in the years that we've been living here," sayd Raymond Reyes, who has lived in the neighborhood for 28 years.

Police say Gerasimov has a history with drug problems and may be under the influence.
