July 17, 2011 - An Orillia family is seeking the public's help to find an 11-year-old girl who ran away Friday evening.

Mercedes Oakes, called Sadie by friends and family, was last seen in the downtown area Saturday evening, according to her step-father, Collin Fogarty. Oakes is believed to still be in the Orillia area. She is known to frequent the beach and other public locations.

Described as looking older than her age, Oakes has dyed dark brown hair, blue eyes and a fair complexion.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is encouraged to call the Orillia OPP and the family at 705-955-0282.
