Korean exchange student goes missing in Digby area

Digby RCMP is seeking public help to locate a Korean exchange student who went missing Saturday.

Hanuk Kim, 15, told his guardian that he was going for a jog at 7:30 p.m. He did not return.

Kim only arrived in Canada two days earlier and does not speak English.

He was last seen at 8:30 p.m. in front of the Shell service station on Highway 303 in Conway.

He was wearing a yellow t-shirt, black jogging pants, black Nike sneakers and he had a small black backpack.

Kim is Asian, six-feet tall, weighs 130 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes.

Hanuk Kim: LOCATED


Hanuk Kim, the Korean exchange student who went missing from Digby on Saturday, turned up Sunday at the Stanfield International airport.

The RCMP issued three press releases Sunday – one at 9 a.m. notifying the public that Kim had gone out for a jog Saturday evening around 7 p.m. and never returned. He was last seen in front of the Shell station in Conway at 8 p.m. Three hours later the RCMP said that Kim had contacted the Korean representative of International Students to say he was in Halifax.

And finally near 1 p.m. Sunday the police say “Kim was located” at the airport outside Halifax.
