Re: MATTHEW P GLASS - 17 yo - Wrentham/ Boston MA
DEDHAM, Mass. -- A 17-year-old Wrentham boy was undergoing tests at
Norwood Hospital Friday after being found disoriented outside a Dedham
home Thursday night.
Matthew Glass initially told police he’d
been kidnapped but later admitted that wasn’t true. Friday,
investigators were trying to determine where exactly he’d been since his
disappearance on September 20.
His brother, Andrew Glass, said Matthew's reappearance answered the prayers of family and friends.
“As
long as he knows everyone is here supporting him…it keeps helping,” he
said. “So tell everyone to keep praying for him and he’ll be good in no
time.”
Glass suffered a severe concussion while playing football
last year and that he was having trouble remembering where he’s been. He
was set to undergo a CAT scan and other concussion-related testing at
Norwood hospital Friday morning.
“He did ask our caregiver - told
her - and she did ask him to call because she felt uncomfortable that
he was driving into Boston, something he would not normally do on a
Tuesday night, a school night,” Matthew’s mother, Diane Glass, said.

“We believe that may be part of the
reason he disappeared,” Lieutenant Bill McGrath said. “He’s disoriented;
he’s having trouble remembering what went on.”
Glass showed up on a Dedham porch Thursday night. What happened before that remains unclear.
“[He said] ‘I need help,’” said Brett Wallace, when Matthew showed up on his doorstep.
Wallace
said Matthew was there, slumped over and nearly unconscious and
disoriented. He said his wife recognized Matthew from the news and
called 911.
“He just seemed really disoriented. He didn’t look
very beat up, but at the same time he was sort of crouched down. He
didn’t have shoes on, so he apparently must have somehow walked through
the woods over there or cut through or did something to make sure that
he at least got -- notified someone,” said Wallace.
