NICOLE FIELDS - 27 yo (Murdered) - Miami/ Key West FL

MIAMI — Authorities are questioning a Florida dad days after the disappearance of his 27-year-old ex-girlfriend.

Steven Louis was arrested after driving into the ocean
during a high speed chase in Key West on Friday. The car belonged to the
missing woman — Nicole Fields.

According to an arrest report, Louis was treated at the hospital for a possible cocaine overdose.

An Osceola County Sheriff's spokeswoman said Louis was
arrested on an aggravated domestic battery connected to Fields'
disappearance, but declined to elaborate.

Fields' mother became worried last Thursday when she
didn't return home from a court hearing to get Louis to pay back child
support for their two-year-old daughter. Fields never picked up her
children from the babysitter.

On Wednesday, authorities searched an area near Louis' home.

Investigators from the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office are
conducting ground searches in two locations as they look for missing
mother Nicole Fields.
Fields, who turned 27 Tuesday, was last seen
Thursday Nov. 3 leaving the Osceola County Courthouse following a child
support hearing involving Steven Louis, the father of one of her
children. The Osceola County Sheriff's Office Aviation,
Ag/Marine, K-9, Mounted Patrol and Criminal Investigations, along with
the Polk County Sheriff's Office are searching an area in Poinciana near
Marigold Avenue and Coyote Road. and an area ner Steven Louis' home at
931 Gateshead Court in Poinciana.
On Friday, Monroe County
Sheriff's Office deputies attempted to make a traffic stop involving
Louis, who was driving Fields' car at the time. Louis fled and
eventually crashed. He was treated at a hospital for minor injuries and
charged with traffic violations.
Louis was brought back to the Orlando area overnight Monday and detectives have been questioning him.

Detectives: Body likely is missing Osceola County mom

The Osceola County Sheriff's Office announced today that a body has
been found in their search for a missing mother, FLORIDA TODAY news
partner WKMG Local 6 reports.
Nicole Fields, a mother of two, has been missing since Friday.
At
a news conference this afternoon, Twis Lizasuain of the Osceola County
Sherriff's Office said two deputies discovered the body just after noon
in a thickly wooded area off Robin Lane.
"Detectives believe the body is the body of Nicole Fields," Lizasuain said.
Her ex-boyfriend, Steven Louis, was arrested last week in the Florida
Keys when he crashed his car while trying to elude deputies,
authorities said.
He was brought back to Osceola County for questioning and was arrested Wednesday night.
Osceola County deputies searched several areas in Poinciana, spanning to Polk County, on Wednesday and today.
The searches were targeted based on information given to deputies by Louis.
Fields
and Louis were in the middle of a custody battle over their 2-year-old
daughter. She was last seen at a custody hearing in the matter.

Nicole Fields stabbed to death

Osceola County – Osceola County Sheriff's detectives confirm the body recovered in Poinciana Thursday is that of Nicole Fields.
The Medical Examiner's Office indicated that the manner of death was a homicide and that Fields died from multiple stab wounds.
Sheriff's
detectives have not confirmed the knife found in Fields' vehicle is
linked to the homicide. Murder and possibly other charges are pending
for Steven Louis, who remains in the Osceola County Jail. The
investigation is on-going at this time.
On November
4, Fields' mother notified law enforcement when her daughter did not
return home after a scheduled court hearing at the Osceola County
Courthouse. The court hearing was on November 3, 2011, and involved
child support with the two-year-old daughter Fields and Louis have
together.

On November 7, Osceola County Sheriff's detectives obtained a
felony warrant of Aggravated Battery for Steven Louis. Late this
afternoon, he was released from a Monroe County hospital and is being
transported back to Osceola County to face this charge. Nicole's vehicle
was transported from Monroe County to Osceola County to be processed
for any evidence.
On November 9, Osceola County
Sheriff's deputies extended their search for missing mom, Nicole Fields
to two specific areas of Osceola County. Based on information obtained
during the investigation, Osceola County Sheriff's Office Aviation,
Ag/Marine, K-9, Mounted Patrol and Criminal Investigations, in
conjunction with the Polk County Sheriff's Office began a search of an
area in Poinciana near Marigold Avenue and Coyote Road. In addition,
deputies will search the area near Louis' residence located at 931
Gateshead Court in Poinciana. Deputies also distributed fliers to
residences in those areas encouraging anyone who might have had contact
with Fields and Louis to come forward with information. Deputies were
able to search approximately 3 miles, searched around 1,500 homes and
distributed hundreds of fliers.
On November 10,
deputies from the Osceola County Sheriff's Office and Polk County
Sheriff's Office began searching a 1 ½ square mile area in Poinciana
located in both Osceola and Polk counties. At approximately 12:00 p.m.,
Osceola County Sheriff's deputies searching a wooded area discovered a
body behind a house located at 612 Robin Lane. The house appeared to be
abandoned. Detectives believe the body is that of missing mom, Nicole
Fields, but are working with the Medical Examiner's Office to confirm
that information. Louis who remains in the Osceola County Jail with no
bond for an Aggravated Battery charge, related to the disappearance of
Nicole Fields.

Ex-boyfriend of missing Central Fla. mom expected to be charged with murder

OSCEOLA COUNTY —
The prime suspect in the case of a missing Osceola County mother is expected
to be charged with murder Friday after investigators found what they believe
is Nicole Fields’ body in a wooded area near an abandoned home.


Investigators said Fields' ex-boyfriend, 28-year-old Steven Louis, who is the
prime suspect in her disappearance, helped guide them to her on Thursday.
The body was found in a wooded area near an abandoned home in Poinciana on
Robin Lane, not far from where Louis lived.


Fields' stepfather, Carl Maynard, told WFTV that he's glad the search has come
to an end, even though it's not the outcome the family wanted.


"We feel much better now finding her," said Maynard. "We’re glad it's coming.
It's sad, but it's the end.”
