"Newborn Jane" ATUATASI - 2 Months - Westminster CA

A mother has pleaded not guilty to
charges of letting her two-month-old baby suffocate and die in a
pile of clothing after a drinking binge.

Orange County district attorney spokeswoman Farrah Emami says
Corrina Atuatasi entered the plea Tuesday in Westminster.

She is due back in court Feb 3.
Atuatasi is charged with a felony count each of involuntary
manslaughter and child abuse and a sentencing enhancement for
causing great bodily injury to a child under 5.
Prosecutors say Atuatasi brought her baby to a neighbor's
apartment on Oct. 30 where she drank with three men for several hours.
They say Atuatasi returned home the next morning. The baby ended
up face-down in a pile of clothing and suffocated.
A message was left for defense attorney Paul Rogers.
