CLARION, Iowa -- More than a year
after a baby arrived at a hospital with broken bones, authorities have
charged a Clarion mother and her boyfriend in the case.

Danielle Jergenson, 22, and Andrew Johnson, 28, are charged with child endangerment.The investigation started in August of 2010 when police said Jergenson and Johnson brought an 8-month-old baby to a hospital.Authorities said the child had multiple lower leg fractures. The child has since recovered from the injuries.

Police said the child was immediately placed in foster care.Investigators said it took time to sort out all the details in the case before they could file charges.Wright County Chief Deputy Jim Lester said Jergenson and Johnson have been released from jail.Clarion
police said Jergenson's preliminary hearing was scheduled for
Wednesday, while Johnson's preliminary hearing was scheduled for Jan. 4.
