EMILY ACEVEDO - 7 Months (And her Mother, Kelley) - Norwalk CT
NORWALK -- State Police have issued a silver
alert in the search for a child and her mother, both of whom are
missing from Norwalk.
In a statement released Thursday afternoon, police say they are looking
for Emily Acevedo, 7-months-old, and her 33-year-old mother, Kelley
Acevedo. The statement calls the missing duo "endangered."
Norwalk Police Chief Harry Rilling said Kelley Acevedo was given a day
pass from an undisclosed facility in New Haven so that she could make an
appearance at Norwalk Superior Court on Wednesday. She was last seen
with her child, and she never appeared in court.
Court records show that Acevedo has a pending misdemeanor larceny case in Norwalk.
According to police, Acevedo and the child were spotted aboard a
northbound Metro North train in East Norwalk at 9:11p.m. Wednesday.
State Police say they were contacted by Norwalk Police and asked to
issue the "silver alert," a bulletin that is typically reserved for a
missing adult.
The baby weighs 25 pounds and the mother is 5-feet-6 and weighs 200
pounds, police said. The mother also has blond hair and blue eyes.
No vehicle description is available. If you have information, call
(203)854-3123 or call the State Police Missing Person Clearinghouse
(860)685-8190.

Re: EMILY ACEVEDO - 7 Months (And her Mother, Kelley) - Norwalk CT
NORWALK, Conn. — Connecticut police have canceled an alert for a missing woman and her 7-month old daughter after finding them safe at a motel in Norwalk.
Police say they found Kelley Acevedo and her daughter,
Emily, on Thursday night at a motel in the Westport Avenue area after
receiving tip. The state Department of Children and Families took
custody of the girl.
Authorities say Kelley Acevedo has been living in a
drug rehabilitation center in New Haven and was issued a 24-hour pass to
attend a court date Wednesday in Norwalk,
where she was sentenced to probation on a larceny charge. Police say
she was supposed to return to the treatment center with the girl after
the court hearing, but went missing instead.
It's not clear if Acevedo will face any charges.
