Des Moines police officers are attempting to locate a Harding Middle School student who went missing on Friday after a phone conversation with his mother.

LeShaun Murray, 14, was last seen by his legal guardian, who he lives with, on his way to a basketball game on Friday night, Sgt. Lori Neely said.

Murray was supposed to see his mother after the game, however between 11 and midnight, he called her and said ”I’ll see you on the other side.”

He has not been seen or heard from since the telephone call, and there has been no activity on his Facebook profile or cell phone. Police attempted to locate him through his cell phone’s geolocater, but the phone was turned off.

After searching through the weekend, Murray’s guardian reported him missing on Sunday, Neely said.

According to Neely, the teen has no prior criminal history and has been described as a good student and not rebellious. Friends and family described the disappearance as “out of character” for Murray.

Anybody with information regarding Murray’s disappearance is asked to call the Des Moines Police Department at 515-283-4811. If a person is with Murray and he is suicidal, 911 should be called immediately, Neely said.
