DES MOINES, Iowa -- Officials with the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation said Monday they are investigating a 5-year-old's death.Friday, emergency crews were called to 208 North Wright Ave. in Eagle Grove on a report of an unresponsive child, Mikayla Valentine.Valentine was taken by air ambulance to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and was pronounced dead.An autopsy is scheduled to be performed at the Johnson County Medical Examiner’s Office.A
criminal investigation into the child’s death is being conducted by the
Eagle Grove Police Department, Wright County Sheriff’s Office, and the
Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation.Officials said no charges have been filed in the case.
