DJANYRA LAWSON - 14 yo - Upper Deerfield NJ
UPPER DEERFIELD TWP. — Djanyra Lawson’s mom hasn’t seen her 14-year-old daughter since Saturday afternoon.
They were watching Whitney Houston’s funeral together when Djanyra went out to feed the dogs.
She fed and watered the dogs, but neither her mom nor her brother has heard from her since.
The 10th grader hasn’t reported to school this week either, and her family is growing increasingly concerned as the days pass since her disappearance.
“We have no idea at all where she is,” said Marella Lawson. She and her son have been looking for Djanyra since she disappeared. The teenager has few friends and no boyfriend that her mother is aware of.
“I haven’t seen any sign of her at any of her regular friend’s houses. We don’t even know where to look.”
Djanyra’s mother describes her as dark skinned, 5 feet 1 inch tall and weighing approximately 150 pounds. She was wearing a green hooded sweatshirt, blue sweatpants and sneakers the day she went missing.
“She didn’t take her purse, her jacket or her keys with her when she went to feed the dogs,” her mother said. “She didn’t take her jacket either, just what she was wearing.”
Marella can’t think of anything that would have impelled Djanyra to run away.
“I don’t even know if she was upset,” said Marella, holding back tears. “When I speak to my son we can’t think of anything; she seemed happy.”
Marella also hasn’t noticed any strange behavior on her daughter’s part, though she did dye her hair bright red shortly before her disappearance.
The New Jersey State Police are aware of Djanyra’s disappearance, and she is currently filed as a missing person.
Often cases like these have a happy resolution, and the missing child turns up at a friend’s house or with a boyfriend or girlfriend; but that is small comfort for her worried family.
“I just want her to come home,” Marella Lawson implored. “I love her ... we love her, and we are very worried.”
Anyone who has information regarding Djanyra Lawson’s whereabouts can contact the New Jersey State Police barracks in Bridgeton at (856) 451-0101.

Re: DJANYRA LAWSON - 14 yo - Upper Deerfield NJ
UPPER DEERFIELD TWP. — A teenager who was reported missing over the weekend is back with her family this morning, safe and unharmed.
Fifteen-year-old
Djanyra Lawson was located by a family member late Tuesday night after
news of her disappearance was posted on the Internet.
Djanyra’s
mother, Marella Lawson, hadn’t seen her daughter since Saturday
afternoon. While watching the Whitney Houston funeral with her mother
and brother, Djanyra went outside to feed the family dogs and didn’t
come back.
Family members and friends re-posted the News article on Facebook and Twitter on Tuesday, which led to an outpouring of support.
Marella was amazed by the response.
“It
was wonderful. We started getting dozens and dozens of calls from
relatives and Djanyra’s friends, then someone called my niece, who found
her staying with one of her friends.”
Djanyra’s return marks the end of a trying four days for the Lawson family, Marella said.
“We are just glad to have her back at home, safe and sound.”
