2011 death of Upper Darby baby has been ruled homicide

UPPER DARBY — The death of a 4-month-old baby boy in November 2011 has been declared a homicide, according to authorities.
Police originally responded to a report of an unconscious child at a home on
the 100 block of North Fairview Avenue, in the Highland Park section of
the township, at about 3:51 a.m. Nov. 6.
The child, Ja’den Jones, was transported to Delaware County Memorial Hospital, revived and
transferred to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia where he died four
days later.
“There were no visible signs of bruising on the child
and no prior history of abuse,” Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood
said when discussing the case Sunday. “At the time of the call, on Nov.
6, there were four people in the house, a 17-year-old female, a
20-year-old female, the mom, 38, and a male friend of the mom, 38. They
were originally cooperative. Now they’re lawyered up.
"Somebody in that house killed that baby.
It’s outrageous. They are stymieing the investigation with their
silence. Nobody can tell me they don’t know what happened. They know.
It’s unconscionable that the family knows who killed this innocent child
and are conspiring to keep the facts unknown. That child was murdered
in that house.”
According to Chitwood, the Philadelphia Medical
Examiner’s office conducted the autopsy, X-rayed the body and found a
broken femur or tibia bone on the child’s right leg.
“That’s consistent with child abuse,” Chitwood said. “The coroner sent the
organs out to be examined by a forensic specialist and we were notified
this week the cause of death is cranio-cervical trauma, a brain and
spine injury. The manner of death is homicide.
“We believe the child was probably crying and somebody threw the baby into the crib.”
According to Chitwood, previous information revealed the baby boy was placed in
his crib in the second-floor, front bedroom at about 11:30 p.m. Nov. 5.
“The mom left to go to a fundraiser and left the child in the care of her
17-year-old daughter and the male friend,” Chitwood said. “She called
him and asked him to come over. Some time later, about 2 a.m., the
21-year-old niece, who lives there, comes home and the mom arrives home
about 3 or 3:30 a.m. She goes to the bedroom and the baby is not
responsive, the child is not breathing and police were called.”
Police returned to the residence this week to complete the investigation and interview the three women.
“They shut down and refused to talk,” Chitwood said. “The three have hired an
attorney and the male hired an attorney. They are not cooperating in
the investigation. It outrages me. Only four people had contact with
that baby.
“The family and the friend know who abused the baby
and they’re not talking. Their silence is conspiracy to obstructing
police in the investigation. A defenseless 4-month old child is dead.
We’re looking for help. They may have told somebody what happened.”
Criminal Investigator Brad Ross is handling the homicide and can be reached at 610-734-7677.

The POS mother is covering for someone. Most likely her bed partner.
Someone please explain to me why women chose a man, a dime a dozen man, over their own precious flesh and blood?
One thing the skank Casey taught baby murderers is that if you keep your mouth shut you can get by with murder.
