Unnamed Newborn Boy - 5 Months/ Accused: Paul Stafford - Oak Ridge TN

OAK RIDGE, Tenn. —

A five-month old baby was recently hospitalized and his mother’s live-in boyfriend has been jailed for reportedly hurting him.
Clinton Police Sgt. Danielle Alexander arrested 23-year-old Noah Paul
Stafford at his Lakefront Mobile Home Park home on Thursday for
aggravated child abuse.
He is being held in the Anderson County jail.
Stafford is accused of hurting the baby while caring for him while the baby’s mother and grandmother went to the grocery store.
Records said when the women returned to the trailer about 11 p.m., the baby was “screaming.”
Stafford reportedly met the women outside of the trailer and told the baby’s mother to go inside and “get her (expletive) kid.”
When the mother went inside, she found her son with blood around his mouth and saw bruises on his body.
The mother reportedly tried to feed the baby, but he vomited blood. She
then took him to Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge; and, from
there, he was transferred to East Tennessee Children’s Hospital in Knoxville.
Reports said the baby had internal bleeding inside his head, visible
marks and bruises on his face, neck and abdomen and a “petechiae,” a
small purple spot caused by a minor hemorrhage, on his neck.
According to reports, Stafford denied any knowledge of how the baby sustained injuries.
Later he told Alexander he had been drinking and fell while holding the baby, reports said.
He said the baby fell face first on the floor, according to Alexander,
who reported the baby’s injuries were not consistent with a fall.
