Police say they have arrested a woman they say tried to strangle her infant in a hospital six times.
Alexis Felton, 21, was at Florida Hospital South when police said she strangled her 11-month-old child, who was in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit for unknown reasons.
Hospital cameras captured the attempted strangling, where police said you could see Felton checking to see if anyone was watching, then walked over to the infant and repeatedly choking the child with her hands.
According to the report, on the fifth time, "the child can be heard gasping for breath and choking and can be seen kicking its legs in an attempt to get away."
Police said Felton would only stop when she thought someone was entering the room.
According to the report, Felton looks around and then for the sixth time chokes and strangles the child.
The infant was unresponsive, but hospital monitors alerted nurses. They rushed in and saved the baby, according to the police report.
Felton has been arrested and charged with attempted homicide. She was booked into the Orange County Jail.

Judge orders no contact for mom accused of choking 11-month-old daughter
Alexis Keanna Felton, 21,
appears with her public defender in an Orange County Jail courtroom,
after being charged with six counts of attempted homicide in the choking
of her 11-month-old daughter.

A young Orlando mother accused of repeatedly choking her hospitalized 11-month-old daughter will have no contract with the child, a judge ruled at an emergency hearing Friday.
The judge ruled that the Florida Department of Children and Families had
probable cause to take the girl into custody. DCF lawyers said she is
slated for foster-care placement.
At the hearing, the judge issued a no-contact order for the mother, 21-year-old Alexis Felton, and a man
believed to possibly be the girl's father. A paternity test was also ordered.
Felton faces six counts of attempted homicide and is being held without bond at the Orange County
Jail. She teared up when she learned about the no-contact order during
an appearance before a different judge Friday. The baby girl had been
hospitalized for unknown reasons when her mother was caught on video
repeatedly grabbing her by the throat, according to Orlando police reports.
Police said the child could be heard choking, gasping,
trying to cry and kicking in an apparent attempt to get away from her
mother's repeated attacks. Felton tried to choke her daughter five
times, police say. During the sixth, the baby lost consciousness. Felton
reportedly told medical staff the girl was "having another episode."
Police reports say Felton initially denied trying to hurt the child,
but later admitted to police that she choked her baby. She told police
she was sorry, police reports show. Circuit Judge Donald Grincewicz
noted that the child has been hospitalized on six prior occasions, but
was released each time to her mother's custody. DCF wasn't notified by
hospital staff of those previous hospitalizations, Grincewicz said.
"This child," he added, "in all likelihood should not have been released
back" to her mother.
The child is not expected to have long-term medical problems, a DCF spokeswoman said.
