BREAKING NEWS (10 p.m.): An
anxious family is hoping a heightened search will help find a
15-year-old runaway who authorities believe traveled from Orange County,
N.Y., to Hoboken. "We are concerned about her well-being," said Joseph
Occhipinti, director of the National Police Defense Foundation, which
has offered a $2,500 reward for information that leads to Daria
Tropiano's safe return.








One of the two men phoned Daria's mother
earlier today, saying he didn't know she was underage until he saw a
post from a friend on Facebook, CLIFFVIEW PILOT learned tonight.

He said he gave her some money and claimed that he put her on a PATH train to Manhattan.

"She can't have more than $20 in her pocket," Occhipinti said tonight. "She's very vulnerable right now."

An earlier report tonight he'd received tonight that Daria was in Hoboken proved unfounded, Occhipinti said.

Port Authority police already have joined the search, said Occhipinti, whose organization has asked the FBI to intervene, said . Police in Hoboken and Daria's Orange County town of Crawford, N.Y. have also been notified, he said.

Daria, who
is legally blind in one eye, was treated for emotional trouble last
month at a hospital in White Plains, according to a police report.

She was last seen late Thursday into early Friday in Pine Bush, N.Y. It's
believed she then boarded a Port-Jervis Metro-North train out of
Middletown to Hoboken for a scheduled rendezvous with her unidentified
friends.

She was wearing a gray, zip-up hooodie and striped purple Vans sneakers at the time.

Daria's
father, James Cracolici, posted a notice on his Facebook page that was
picked up by several people and distributed across the Web. Occhipinti
said he hopes that CLIFFVIEW PILOT's audience, which includes many police, teachers and other public servants, can help.

CRAWFORD – The father of a 15-year-old Town of Crawford girl has
issued an appeal for her to return home.


James Cracolici posted on his Facebook page Monday evening that his daughter,
Daria Tropiano, was last seen around 1 a.m. last Friday morning in Pine
Bush.

She may have been heading to Hoboken, New Jersey aboard a Metro-North
train from the Town of Wallkill station, he said.

Meanwhile, the National Police Defense Foundation has posted a $2,500
reward for information leading to her safe return.

Police agencies from Orange County to the New York metropolitan area have
been alerted to look for the missing teen.

She may have left her home to meet with two men she met online.

into the Hoboken police station this morning, ending an anxious search
