Amber Alert issued for 2-year-old Summerville girl

SUMMERVILLE — Summerville Police Department officials issued an Amber Alert today for a 2-year-old girl.



Police are looking for Haley Renae Briggs, who has brown curly hair and blue eyes, and was last seen wearing red pajama pants, and a shirt that reads, USA.



She was last seen with 19-year-old Megan Marie Briggs, according to the Amber Alert posted on the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division website. Megan has brown hair and blue eyes, and is about 5-feet 4-inches tall and 140 pounds. She was last seen wearing a black shirt and white pants.



Officers believe they are traveling in a gold 2003 Buick, with the Tag No. EQG113 on it. If you have any information on the girl's whereabouts, please call the Summerville Police Department at (843) 875-1650.

Missing S.C. 2-year-old found safe in N.C.

SUMMERVILLE — Two-year-old Haley Briggs has been found safe in North Carolina hours after authorities say she was abducted from her grandparents’ home by her mother.

Haywood County (N.C.) authorities have 19-year-old Megan Marie Briggs in custody about 25 miles west of Asheville, Summerville Police Capt. John Rogers said.
