More information about the missing girl has been released. She was last seen wearing a pink zip-up jacket, red shorts, and grey and pink shoes. She was taken from the Comfort Inn located on the 6700 block of Telegraph Road.  Authorities believe the girl is in extreme danger. Please call 911 if you see this child.

Michigan authorities are searching for an 8-year-old girl who was reported missing from the parking lot of a suburban Detroit motel.

An Amber Alert was issued for the child on Wednesday morning.

The missing child is described as being a white girl, 4' tall with blonde or strawberry hair, weighing about 60 lbs.

Police say they were told the girl's parents left her sleeping in a vehicle outside the motel in Taylor about 3:30 a.m. while they went inside to check in, and when they went back outside she was missing. Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact police in Taylor.

The Amber Alert of Michigan website is referring to this as a "Stranger/Acquaintance Kidnapping."

The name of the missing girl has not been released.

Michigan Amber Alert Girl From Monroe

The 8-year-old girl who was at the center of an Amber Alert issued after her parents forgot her inside a Dearborn Heights house is from Monroe and is staying with her grandmother who lives in Frenchtown Township.

“She’s fine,” the grandmother, who asked not to be identified, told The Monroe News. “I don’t understand what’s going on.”

Taylor police issued the Amber Alert early this morning for Haley Poupard, who was reported missing around 3:30 a.m. According to relatives of the family, the father, his wife and three children were living in a house in Dearborn Heights and they were about to be evicted.

For some reason the parents began looking for hotel rooms in the middle of the night. The parents and the two older children left the house and apparently forgot about Haley. Earlier reports that she was left sleeping inside a pickup truck outside a hotel were not true, family members said.

Haley actually was left behind at the house where she was later found safe. She was sleeping the entire time.

“We don’t know the whole story,” said an aunt who lives in Monroe. “We didn’t even know she was missing.”

The dad is being held for questioning by Taylor police. His mother, the children’s grandmother, said all three children are with her. She said her son and his wife are having issues that must be addressed.

“They need help,” she said.
