A 13-month-old south Fulton County boy was taken to the hospital after ingesting cocaine, and authorities are now looking for the child's grandmother and her boyfriend, police told Channel 2 Action News.
Active warrants were issued Monday for Ebony Daniel, 34, and Charlie Martin, 22, charging both with possession of cocaine, cruelty to children in the first degree and reckless conduct, according to Sgt. Lee Gragg of the Palmetto Police Department.
The child's 17-year-old mother is considered a witness and has not been charged, Gragg said.
Police said they received a call at 5 p.m. Saturday from Piedmont Newnan Hospital about a toddler who had been brought in by his mother.
Officers were told that the boy, whose name was not released, had ingested cocaine at the home of the boy's mother and her boyfriend in the 200 block of Elm Street, police said.
The child was transported to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston, where he was admitted to the hospital for observation and tested positive for cocaine, police said.
Saturday night, Palmetto police executed a search warrant at the boy's home, and "evidence was found and collected at the residence," Gragg said. He did not go into details.
The child has since been released from the hospital, and investigators said Monday they were awaiting toxicology reports to determine how much cocaine he ingested.

Police make arrests after baby allegedly ingests cocaine
PALMETTO, Ga. —
Police have two people in custody, accused of letting a 13-month-old child ingest cocaine over the weekend.
Channel 2's Eric Philips was there when police walked Charlie Martin, 22, into jail. Martin is the boyfriend of the child's grandmother, Ebony Daniel, 34, who turned herself in to police Tuesday morning.
Police said the baby boy was brought to Piedmont Newnan Hospital over the weekend and then transferred to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston when doctors found out what was going on with the child.
Doctors confirmed the child tested positive for cocaine. Police then swore warrants out for Martin and Daniel.
Channel 2's Ryan Young went by Daniel's Palmetto home to get her side of what happened.
When Young knocked on her door, Daniels just yelled, "Nothing to say to you people."
Outside the house on Elm Street in Palmetto, children's toys could be seen throughout the yard Tuesday afternoon.
Investigators told Young the child's mother is being cooperative.
"The mother of the child is helping us. We have talked with other witnesses who said the cocaine was left open on the table," Sgt. Lee Gragg with the Palmetto Police Department.
Martin was taken into custody by police Tuesday night.
The child has since been released from the hospital, and investigators said they were awaiting toxicology reports to determine how much cocaine he ingested.
