CCPD Searching for a Missing Child

The Corpus Christi Police Department are searching for a missing 12-year-old child that was last seen on the 4100 block of Brett Street at 7:30 pm on August 28, 2012.

A 28-year-old woman told police her 12-year-old daughter went for a jog inside an apartment complex at 7:30 pm and had not returned home. The 28-year-old woman said she and her daughter had moved to Corpus Christi on July 30, 2012 and had not met many people. The woman said there was no event of discipline or conflict that would have contributed to cause the girl to run away from home.

The 12-year-old girl, Cameron Hernandez, is a Hispanic female, 5 ft. 1 inch tall, 100 pounds, with dyed red hair, brown eyes and was last seen wearing a white tank top shirt, silver basketball shorts, black Nike running shoes, and a camouflaged Camelback water carrier. The 12-year-old girl is enrolled in 6th grade at Tom Browne Middle School.

Harlingen girl goes missing while jogging in Corpus Christi

Authorities are searching for a missing Harlingen girl after she went missing while going jogging in Corpus Christi.
The family of 12-year-old Cameron "CJ" Hernandez turned to Action 4 News for help on our Facebook page.
KRIS-TV in Corpus Christi reported that Hernandez went missing on on the 4100 block of Brett Street around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Hernandez's mother told police that her daughter went for a jog inside an apartment complex never returned home.
The family recently moved from Harlingen to Corpus Christi.
Hernandez is described as a Hispanic female about 5 feet 1 inch tall weighing 100 pounds with dyed red hair and brown eyes.
She
was last seen wearing a white tank top shirt, silver basketball shorts,
black Nike running shoes, and a camouflaged Camelback water carrier.
The 12-year-old girl is enrolled in 6th grade at Tom Browne Middle School in Corpus Christi.

Oh no. This doesn't sound good. The girl has been missing almos a month and she's only 12. I don't recall hearing anything about it in national news.

She's been missing since Aug. 28, 2 days. I think you saw the date they move in July.

CORPUS CHRISTI — Corpus Christi police are asking the public's help in finding a 12-year-old girl reported missing Tuesday.

Cameron Hernandez was last seen by her mother about 7:30 p.m. as she left to jog inside their apartment complex in the 4100 block of Brett Street, police said.

The girl's 28-year-old mother said they moved to the city last month and do not know many people. The woman also told police there was no recent conflict between them, according to a news release.

Three police detectives and a supervisor have been working the case since late Tuesday, Senior Officer Julie Garcia of the Corpus Christi Police Department said.

"They've been going at it since she was reported as a runaway around midnight," Garcia said.

Police have alerted media in the Rio Grande Valley where the girl used to live and are trying to contact friends and relatives there in case the girl decided to return.

She is described as a Hispanic female, about 5 feet 1 inch tall, weighing about 100 pounds with brown eyes and dyed, red hair. Cameron was last seen wearing a white tank-top, silver basketball shorts and black Nike running shoes. She also was carrying a water-carrying backpack.

Yes you are right MIL. I saw the wrong date. Still, two days for a 12 year old to be missing is serious. I hope she is found safely. Poor family.

Missing 12-Year Old Cameron Hernandez Found by Aunt

A 12-year old girl who was reported missing Tuesday was found by her aunt, and is safe Thursday night.

Cameron
Hernadez, a Tom Browne Middle School student, told her mom she was
going for a jog around the complex where they live Tuesday night, and
never returned home. That spawned a search by police and community
members.

The girl
was found by her aunt, who was posting flyers in the area of Port and
Morgan Thursday afternoon. The 12-year old was taken to Driscoll
Children's Hospital as a precaution.

Police said the investigation into her disappearance continues.
