Amber Alert issued for 14-year-old Sumter County girl

A picture released as part of an Amber Alert for Karla Giovanni Carvjal out of Sumter County.

SUMTER COUNTY -- An Amber Alert has been issued for a 14-year-old girl out of Sumter County.

Officials say Karla Giovanni Carvjal was last seen in Wildwood at the intersection of County Road 230 and Country Road 205C.

Carvjal was wearing blue jean pants, a blue Florida Gators jacket with fur lining around the hood and black converse shoes.

Officials say she may be traveling in a gray 4-door car.

Amber Alerts are issued for children under the age of 18 believed to have been abducted and the child’s life is in danger.

Amber Alert canceled for 14-year-old Sumter County girl

SUMTER COUNTY -- An Amber Alert was canceled Wednesday evening for a 14-year-old girl out of Sumter County.

Officials said Karla Giovanni Carvjal was found safe.

No other details were immediately available.

Officials were looking for Carvjal after she was last seen in Wildwood at the intersection of County Road 230 and Country Road 205C.

The Amber Alert was active for a little more than an hour.

Amber Alerts are issued for children under the age of 18 believed to have been abducted and the child’s life is in danger.
