A 4-year-old boy was found dead in an empty Long Island home yesterday in what likely was foul play, sources said.

An anonymous 911 caller from inside the Amityville residence said an unconscious boy was there, the sources said.

Officials found the beaten boy home alone on a couch.

Suffolk cops last night were questioning a man who lived in the home, sources said.

Suffolk police Det. Lt. Jack Fitzpatrick told Newsday that the boy was living in the home with his 6-year-old sister along with two adults who were not their parents.

Fitzpatrick told the paper that the boy was "a victim of violence" who did not attend school Wednesday.

4-Year-Old Amityville Murder Victim Identified

An Amityville boy who was found unconscious in his home, the victim of an apparent violent attack that claimed his life two hours later, has been identified, according to Suffolk Police.

4 year-old Adonis Reed was found inside apartment located at 89 Kethcham Avenue on Wednesday afternoon, alone and unconscious after an unknown individual had called 911 at 3:49 p.m. and requested an ambulance for a boy in urgent need of medical help.

“There were signs the little boy had suffered violence,” Suffolk County Police Lt. Jack Fitzpatrick said in a statement to the Associated Press. There were no adults were present in the apartment, which is located in a run-down two-story house, according to police.

Reed was rushed to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip where doctors pronounced him dead at 6 p.m.

An autopsy performed by the Suffolk County Medical Examiner on Thursday uncovered evidence that have caused investigators to rule the case as a homicide, according to police.

Reed is reported to also have a 6 year-old sister who is currently in the custody of Child Protective Services. The boy’s parents have not been identified by police.

Bail nixed for LI kid-slay suspect

A Long Island man was held without bail yesterday on charges he murdered a
4-year-old boy because the child would not take a nap.

Jonathan Thompson, 31, pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder at his arraignment hearing in Central Islip.

Thompson was baby-sitting Adonis Reed in their Amityville home Wednesday
afternoon when he allegedly flew into a rage and punched the defenseless
tyke twice.

“He wouldn’t take a nap, so [Thompson] became angry
and hit him. He punched him twice,” said a source, adding that Adonis
died from internal bleeding.

Police are investigating how long Adonis lay dying before he was discovered.

Police believe it was the suspect who made the 911 that led police to the

Thompson had been living with his girlfriend, Lakisha
Pitt, 32, the godmother of Adonis and his 6-year-old sister, who is now
in the custody of child-welfare officials.

Thompson, who has priors for grand larceny and robbery, fled the scene and was captured by
federal marshals in Brooklyn on Friday

For not taking a nap? OMG! At 4 yrs old they're think they're too big for a nap. It may not be convenient for the adult, they will take a nap when they get tired enough. My heart breaks for this child. My personal schedule was changed many times by little kids, but I didnt punish or beat any of them. We continued on with whatever the child was doing or playing and most of the time, they gave it up within a short time. No harm, No foul.

Heartbreaking, beat to death for being a typical little four year old boy.

How awful! What a shame!
