Inmate's cellphone photos show mom sexually assaulting daughters

HIGHLAND, Calif. (KABC) --
A Highland mother was arrested for sexually assaulting her two young daughters after authorities found photos of the abuse on a prison inmate's cellphone.

Investigators say the mother, 28-year-old Evelyn Alvarez, had taken photos of herself as she sexually assaulted her two daughters and then sent those photos to Juan Bravo, who is serving a life sentence at Kern Valley State Prison.

Correctional officers found the phone, as well as heroin, hidden inside Bravo's cell. They alerted Highland detectives on Wednesday after discovering the digital photos.

Alvarez was arrested for lewd acts with a child. She is being held in lieu of $ 250,000 bail.
