Omaha police said a distraught mother threatened the life of her 3-week-old daughter by holding a knife to her throat.Officers were called to the area near Fontenelle Boulevard and Sorenson Parkway around 10 p.m. Monday.Witnesses
told investigators Erika Davis, 23, had been drinking and possibly
taking drugs. They said she assaulted a number of people then left the
area while holding a knife to her baby’s throat.Omaha police Sgt. Tim Woolman said an extensive search was launched.
“We
were in the process of putting out an Amber Alert due to the fact that
she had threatened the child,” Woolman said. “The child was in imminent
danger and we were pulling units from all over the city just to
saturate the area to find her.”Woolman said Davis was located about 90 minutes later.Investigators said the people who were assaulted refused treatment.The baby wasn’t hurt and is now in protective custody.

Monday night in the home the three share at 5426 Fontenelle Blvd.Police were called to the home just after 8:50 p.m., but the mother already had fled on foot with her baby.After
nearly three hours of searching, police found both mother and baby
unharmed at a home in the 4600 block of North 54th Avenue.
The mother was arrested on suspicion of
felony child abuse, terroristic threats, use of a weapon to commit a
felony and misdemeanor assault. Her son was placed in state custody.The 21-year-old pregnant assault victim declined to go to the hospital.
