ETERNITY BRAME - 5 months - Crown Point IN

A northwestern Indiana man has pleaded
guilty to charges he fatally beat his girlfriend's 5-month-old
niece.


Twenty-year-old Christopher Washington of Gary faces up to 40
years in prison when he is sentenced Nov. 17 on a charge of felony
battery. He pleaded guilty Tuesday in a Lake County court.


Prosecutors say Washington struck Eternity Brame repeatedly with
his fist while carrying the child to his girlfriend's house in
October. The child was later found unresponsive and pronounced
dead.


An autopsy showed that Eternity died as a result of blunt force
trauma and had internal injuries and a fractured skull.
