The father of a 5-month-old has been charged with child endangerment causing serious bodily injury.

Nelson Enrique Rieman, 27, was arrested Friday. He is accused of inflicting injury upon Arayu Rieman.

Police
said Arayu was examined by a doctor for a broken collarbone in August.
Medical staff did not call police at the time because the explanation
for the injury was reasonable, officers said.

Police began an investigation on Sept. 15. Doctors said they discovered bleeding on the baby’s brain.

Additional
tests found previous, similar injuries, allegedly caused by shaking, in
different stages of healing, said Detective Larry Penland.
Bond was set at $25,000, cash only.
