The LEON CHILDREN - 4 and 2 yo and 6 months - Parental/SUICIDAL - Whittier CA

An Amber Alert has been issued for three young children abducted by
their father who police say is threatening to kill them and himself.

It happened around 2:00 Monday afternoon at 8930 Painter Avenue in Whittier.

29-year old Daniel Leon is described as a male hispanic, 5`8, 180lbs with a shaved head.

He was driving a black Dodge Intrepid license plate 4LQY818 2000.

The 4-door vehicle has damage to the right front fender and yellow paint on left rear bumper.

The children are identified as:

4-year old Danielle Leon, last seen wearing brown shirt with monkeys on the front and pink Converse shoes.

23-month old Lance Leon , last seen wearing pajama top, blue pants with green stripe on side and brown shoes.

6-month old Jeremy Leon, last seen wearing orange sweater with Mickey
Mouse on the front, gray pants with baseball glove on the back.

Leon is said to have threatened to kill himself and the kids.

It is not known if he is armed.

LEON WERE ABDUCTED FROM THE CITY OF WHITTIER IN LOS ANGELES COUNTY,
CALIFORNIA.
JEREMY LEON IS A 6 MONTH OLD HISPANIC MALE JUVENILE, BALD, AND BLACK
EYES. JEREMY WAS LAST SEEN WEARING AN ORANGE SWEATER WITH MICKEY MOUSE
ON THE FRONT, AND GRAY PANTS WITH A BASEBALL GLOVE DESIGN. LANCE LEON
IS A 1 YEAR OLD HISPANIC MALE JUVENILE, 3 FEET TALL, 21 POUNDS, WITH
BROWN HAIR AND BLACK EYES. LANCE WAS LAST SEEN WEARING A LONG SLEEVE
PAJAMA TOP, BLUE PANTS WITH A GREEN STRIPE AND BROWN SHOES. DANIELLE
LEON IS A 4 YEAR OLD HISPANIC FEMALE JUVENILE, 3 FEET 6 INCHES TALL, 50
POUNDS, BROWN HAIR AND BLACK EYES. DANIELLE WAS LAST SEEN WEARING A
BROWN SHIRT WITH MONKEYS ON THE FRONT AND PINK CONVERSE SHOES.
THE SUSPECT, DANIEL LEON, IS A 29 YEAR OLD HISPANIC MALE ADULT, 5 FEET 8
INCHES TALL, 150 POUNDS, BLACK HAIR AND BROWN EYES. DANIEL WAS LAST
SEEN
WEARING A GRAY T-SHIRT, BLACK SHORTS, AND BLACK SHOES. DANIEL IS THE
FATHER OF THE VICTIMS AND HAS A HISTORY OF VIOLENCE. DANIEL IS SUICIDAL
AND HAS THREATENED TO TAKE THE LIVES OF HIS CHILDREN. THE SUSPECT WAS
LAST SEEN DRIVING A BLACK 2000 DODGE INTREPID 4 DOOR SEDAN, WITH A CA
LICENSE PLATE OF 4LQY818. IF SEEN, CONTACT THE WHITTIER POLICE

A Whittier man was arrested Monday for
allegedly threatening to kill his three children and kidnapping them
after a dispute with his wife.An Amber Alert was issued when Daniel Leon took the children then left
in a Dodge Intrepid. He was arrested when he returned to the family's
apartment in the 8900 block of Painter Avenue with Jeremy, 6 months,
Lance, 2, and Danielle, 4.The children were unharmed and were in the custody of their mother on
Monday night, said Whittier police spokesman Officer Jason Zuhlke.Leon was booked on suspicion of domestic battery, child abduction and
making terrorist threats. He was being held at Whittier police jail.Police said Leon allegedly threatened to kill his offspring and commit suicide."Before he fled with the children, he made a comment he would share his
pain with their mother by killing himself and the children," Zuhlke
said. The incident started at 2 p.m., Monday when officers responded to a
domestic dispute in the 8900 block of Painter Avenue. Leon had already
taken the children from the apartment when they arrived.Zuhlke said they don't know what the argument stemmed from. He said
there was also a "physical altercation" between the couple but the wife
wasn't taken to a hospital.At 7 p.m., detectives accompanied the wife back to the apartment."While there, the suspect called her on the cell and announced his intention to return the children," Zuhlke said.Leon was arrested without incident
