16 year-old Sarah J. Harris was last seen on November 13th near Burlingame.

Sarah is a white female who is 5'3" tall, weighing about 120 pounds and has brown hair.
Authorities say she is possibly in the Topeka area.

Amber Alert cancelled after Unicoi teens found safe in Michigan

ERWIN, Tenn. — An East Tennessee Amber Alert has been cancelled for
two Unicoi County teenagers who were found safe in Michigan.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said the teens were discovered
late Wednesday night.

Sarah Jordan Harris, 14, and Daniel Vaderlann, 15, were last seen
leaving their school Wednesday morning, in a 1995 blue Mercury Grand
Marquis with Michigan license plate CAT2660, according to the Unicoi
Sheriff’s Office.

Police said the Mercury was driven by Jason James Kenny, 32, who has
“an extensive and violent criminal history.”

The TBI did not release specifics of their recovery.

Police in Michigan arrested Jason James Kenny around 11:45 p.m.
Wednesday night, according to the Unicoi County Sheriff’s Department.
Police charged Kenny with two counts of Custodial Interference and two
counts of Contributing to the Deliquency of a Minor.

According to the Sheriff’s Department, Kenny was wanted in Michigan
for a Violation of Parole. They also said he had outstanding warrants
for a homicide charge.

An East Tennessee AMBER Alert has been cancelled for 14 year-old Sarah
Jordan Harris and 15 year-old Daniel Vanderlann. Law enforcement in
Michigan found the two safe late Wednesday night, but did not find the
man they left Unicoi County with, Jason James Kenny.

Sarah Jordan Harris and Daniel Vanderlann were last seen at Unicoi
County High School Wednesday morning.

Sarah Harris is a white female with brown hair, green eyes. She is
5’4” tall and weighs 140lbs.

Daniel Vanderlann is a white male with brown hair and brown eyes. He
is 5’11” and weighs 135lbs.

They were both seen getting into a 1995 Blue Mercury Grand Marquis
with Michigan tag CAT2660 driven by Jason James Kenny. Kenny is a 32
year-old white male with brown hair and blue eyes. He is 5’10” tall and
weighs 165lbs. Kenny has an extensive and violent criminal history.

According to the Michigan Deptartment of Correction’s website, Kenny
was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in the late 90s. Police in
Michigan continue to search for Kenny.

It is still unclear why Kenny drove to Unicoi County and picked up
the teens.
