A man who police said sparked an Amber Alert
when he took two children from their Washington home Wednesday morning
was taken into custody in Salem.FBI agents said Alan Fish was
charged with violation of a restraining order and taken to the Marion
County Jail.Fort Lewis police said Fish entered his estranged
wife's home on the Joint Base Lewis-McChord and abducted 4-year-old
Dylan Fish and 5-year-old Reuben Fish at about 6:45 a.m. Wednesday.
Officers
issued an Amber Alert in Washington state for the children and told the
public that Alan Fish may have been heading to Oregon.Fish
turned the children over to police by 1:45 p.m., officers said. He was
taken into custody by Salem police and the case was turned over to the
FBI. The children were not harmed.During the Amber Alert, Ed
Troyer from the Pierce County Sheriff's Office said the children were
not in danger and that the case should not have been classified as an
Amber Alert. He said the military issued the Amber Alert without
consulting the Washington State Patrol or Pierce County Sheriff's
Office.Court documents show Fish's estranged wife received a
restraining order against him earlier this month after she alleged years
of physical and emotional abuse. FBI agents said the children will soon
be reunited with their mother.

safe and the boys’ father was arrested by the Salem Police Department,

were allegedly taken by their 35-year-old father, Alan Ray Fish, from a
home on JBLM between 6:45 a.m. and 7 a.m. Wednesday, WSP said.The
Amber Alert was issued shortly after 11 a.m. and they were found some
time after 1 p.m.The mother of the two boys, Maia Fish, is a
soldier and lives on base, but Alan Fish does not. After the abduction,
Alan Fish was seen driving a silver Honda Element with an Oregon license
plate and heading south on Interstate 5.The boys and Alan Fish
were found in Salem, Ore., JBLM said. The boys were expected to be
returned to their mother.According the court documents, Maia Fish
filed a protection order against Alan Fish on Tuesday. In the order she
said, “We have been married six years and he has been very abusive all
those years. It became normal to me, so I never really cared much
anymore.”She said she has called the cops about six times and
only once filed a report. She said in the documents, “I stopped filing
reports because I end up having to get him out of jail and I can’t
afford it.”She also said she found child pornography on Alan
Fish's computer, "I saw about 60 different child pornographies…all had
different time lengths, but all had the titles "child porn" with nasty
explicit titles around it."Detective Ed Troyer of the Pierce
County Sheriff’s Office said the abduction should not have been
considered an Amber Alert because the kids were not in danger.WSP
also said it objected to calling it an Amber Alert, but that
