"Newborn Jane" IRACHETA - 28 Days(2010) - Abbeville (SE of Lafayette) LA

Abbeville LA ---- The Abbeville Police Department Detectives
arrested Adolfo Iracheta, Jr., Thursday afternoon and charged him with the
murder of his 28-day-old daughter.Detectives responded Saturday morning to a complaint
made by OCS that an infant child from Abbeville was in a hospital in Lafayette
apparently the victim of child abuse and in critical condition.

Detectives interviewed the parents and awaited information from the hospital
until Tuesday, when they were informed of the child’s death.

The autopsy revealed death by Shaken Baby Impact due to blunt force
trauma.

Detectives obtained a warrant for first degree murder for Adolfo Iracheta on
Thursday afternoon and Iracheta was taken into custody at his residence without
incident.

Iracheta, 31, of Abbeville, is being held at Vermilion Parish Correctional
Center on a million dollar bond.

their persistence in bringing this truly horrendous crime to a swift conclusion.
