Des Moines Police are asking for the public's help in finding a missing
runaway. Police say 15-year-old Ashley Carman ran away from Youth
Emergency Shelter and Service Friday morning.



Carman is five foot five and 170 pounds with blue eyes and brown hair.
She was last seen wearing a gray t-shirt and black stretch pants.

Des Moines police are asking for the public's help to find a missing
15-year-old girl.
Ashley Rose Carman left a youth shelter on Thursday morning.Police
said Carman was arrested for taking her mother's vehicle and placed in
the YESS shelter on Wednesday. Thursday morning, she refused to go to
school and became upset. She left the shelter and staff were unable to
catch up with her. She disappeared on the bike trail.Staff,
neighborhood volunteers and police officers searched the area, but were
unable to find her.Carman was last seen wearing a gray t-shirt
and black stretch pants. She is 5 foot 5 inches tall and weighs 170
pounds. She has blue eyes and shoulder length brown hair.If you

A 15-year-old girl who was reported missing last week has been found
and she is safe, Des Moines police reported this morning.
Police Sgt. Lori Lavorato said Ashley Rose Carman was recovered in
the last 24 hours.
Carman ran away from Youth Emergency Services Shelter, 918 S.E. 11th
St., last Thursday. Officials said she was taken to the shelter
Wednesday night after allegedly taking her mother’s car.
The next day she refused to go to school and then ran away,
disappearing on a recreational trail.
