San Bernardino CA ---- A
couple have been arrested after one of them showed up at an emergency
room with their dead infant son. San Bernardino police Lt. Jarrod
Burguan says the boy's parents were arrested because the baby's
injuries appeared to be the result of child abuse. Burguan
says 22-year-old Antoinette Joy Cox and 24-year-old Christopher Tatum
were booked for investigation of injury to a child resulting in death.
He says 5-month-old Khron Seals was dead when Cox arrived at the
emergency room about 6:30 p.m. Thursday. Details of the
child's injuries were not disclosed.

suspicion of injuring a child, causing death. Both were booked into
Central Detention Center in San Bernardino.The victim, Khron Seals, was brought to an emergency room by his mother
Thursday. Police said the child was dead when he arrived at the
hospital.Detectives discovered the child had sustained several injuries.

Couple face murder charge for baby's death

A San Bernardino couple was charged Monday with two felonies, including murder, in last week's death of their 5-month-old baby.

Antoinette Joy Cox, 22, and her boyfriend, Christopher Eugene Tatum, 24, also face assault on a child causing death, according to a criminal complaint filed in San Bernardino County Superior Court.

The child, Kharon Seals, was taken to the hospital Thursday night from the family's apartment in the 1100 block of West Huff Street, where he had apparently suffered injuries that were at least a day old, police said. Doctors noted bruising on his body, marks on his face and a fractured skull.

San Bernardino police detectives are still awaiting a full autopsy to determine just how long the boy had been abused, said Lt. Jarrod Burguan. Cox and Tatum are being held in lieu of $500,000 bail.
