"Baby John Doe" - 2 Months - Newton (N of Wichita) KS

Newton KS ---- Police are investigating possible abuse of a 2-month-old boy in Newton.
The child was taken May 19 by his parents to Newton Medical Center with
head injuries and a broken collarbone, said Lt. Eric Murphy of the
Newton Police Department.
The child then was transferred to Wesley Medical Center, where he
underwent surgery.
Murphy said there was evidence the injuries happened on separate
occasions.
The child was taken into protective custody, Murphy said.
The case is under investigation, and no arrests have been made.
Neither the names of the parents nor the child were released.
Murphy said he would not release where the alleged abuse occurred other
than to say it was believed to have happened in Newton.
