Police issued an Amber Alert Friday night after child was kidnapped in Newport Beach.

Four-year-old Symphony Alton was snatched by her
mom as the child dined at the Cheesecake Factory at Fashion Island
Newport Beach. Cops said Symphony's mom, Angela Aiton does not have legal custody of the child.




Police were worried for Symphony's safety so they issued the Amber Alert.

An Amber Alert has been issued for the alleged custodial kidnapping of a
4 year old girl.

Orange County Sheriff's investigators say Symphony Alton was taken by
her mother, 35 year old Angela Aiton.

According to Orange County Sheriff's officials, Angela Aiton was held
last month in a psychiatric facility after behaving irrationally.

Symphony Aiton was taken from 1141 Newport Center in the trendy Fashion
Island shopping district.

It's believed Angela Aiton may be driving a black 1998 Jeep Grand
Cherokee, California license plate 4AXJ869 or a silver 2004 Porsche
Cayenne SUV, California license plate 5CPB114.

If any sees Angela or Symphony Aiton or their vehicles, they are asked
to call 9-1-1.

A woman who lost custody of her daughter during a battle with mental
health issues is suspected of kidnapping her 4-year-old daughter from a
Fashion Island restaurant during a supervised visit. An Amber Alert has
been issued for the young girl.
Symphony Aiton, 4, was last seen by a worker at the Cheesecake
Factory in the arms of her mother, Angela Marie Aiton, said Newport
Beach Lt. Craig Fox.
Aiton lost custody of her daughter in March as a result of a
court-ordered mental health evaluation, Fox said. Her daughter was
placed in foster care and her court-appointed foster father brought her
to the restaurant for a supervised visit Friday. Her mother asked to
take her to the bathroom, but she never returned to the table.
Suspicious, her father called police at about 6:35 p.m.
Aiton is reportedly a 40-pound, white, with curly black hair and blue
eyes. She was last seen in a jacket with a leopard print collar, pink
shirt, pink skirt, pink leggings and pink sandals.
Angela Aiton is described as a 34-year-old white woman, 5 feet 7
inches, weighing 115 pounds with blonde hair and blue eyes.
Aiton was reportedly last seen driving a 1998 black Jeep Cherokee
with California
license plate 4AXJ869. She could also be driving a 2004 Porsche with
the California license 5CPB144.
Aiton's last known address was in Huntington
Beach, police said.

A statewide search for a 4-year-old girl who was allegedly abducted
by her mother in Newport Beach ended Saturday when police took the pair
into custody in the Playa Vista area.Authorities said Symphony
Sarah Aiton was found unharmed and taken into protective custody around
2:20 p.m. at the intersection of Lincoln and Jefferson boulevards, where
police officers found the vehicle and detained the girl's mother, said
Lt. Paula Kreefft of the Los Angeles Police Department.

A Huntington
Beach mother pleaded not guilty Wednesday to felony
child-stealing, accused of abducting her 4-year-old daughter last week
during a supervised visit with the child and her foster father.

Beach, faces a maximum sentence of eight years in
prison if convicted. She is also charged with a sentencing enhancement
for a 2005 conviction for residential burglary. She remains in custody
in lieu of $125,000 bail.
Superior Court Judge Stephanie George scheduled a preliminary hearing
for Aiton on June 11 in the Harbor Justice Center.Aiton
lost custody of her daughter in March and the girl was placed in
protective custody and sent to live with foster parents, according to a
news release from the Orange County District Attorney's office. Prosecutors contend that Aiton abducted her daughter and drove away in
her black Jeep Grand
Cherokee during a supervised visit Friday at The
Cheesecake Factory at Fashion Island in Newport Beach.The
girl's foster father called Newport Beach Police about 10 minutes later
when he realized Aiton did not return from a trip to the restroom,
prompting an Amber Alert, prosecutors said. Aiton was arrested by Los Angeles
police on Saturday when a witness called 911 after seeing the
Grand Cherokee traveling south on I-405 at Imperial Highway. The
4-year-old girl was recovered safely.Deputy
District Attorney Jim Bacin said his office also obtained a protective
order barring Aiton from contacting her daughter.
