SETH ANDRUS - 14 yo - Wapakoneta (SE of Fort Wayne) IN
A mother who just months ago moved to Wapakoneta with her 14-year-old
son is looking for him for the second time in as many weeks.
Amy Andrus, a resident of West Main Street, reported to Wapakoneta Police
that her son Seth Andrus has been missing since late Sunday night.
Tuesday afternoon the brown haired 5’9” 179-pound teen was still not home.
After checking everywhere she could think of and police not getting any where on leads,
the worried mother is asking for help.
“I just want to find him,” Amy Andrus said. “I don’t know where he is.”
Fighting back tears, Andrus said at first she was mad, but now she’s
really getting worried about him, wanting to make sure he’s OK.
“As a mother you worry,” she said. “I don’t know if he’s hungry or thirsty...”
Andrus said her son, who is to be an eighth-grader at Wapakoneta High
School when school starts, left on foot with probably not more than a
set of house keys and a cell phone, which she expects to have ran out of power by now.
She said he had no money and she suspects he was
only wearing the clothes on his back. No description was available of
what Seth may have been wearing when he disappeared.
The 14-year-old was first reported missing Aug. 3 after he became upset
about a family situation but was located the next day at a friend’s
house, according to a report from the Wapakoneta Police Department.
His mother said nothing like that seemed to trigger him to runaway this time.
Formerly of Celina, Andrus said she has checked with friends there and
here and has had her son’s cell phone pinged to try to get a location
but has had no success in finding him.
“I want him to come home, to contact me and let me know he’s OK,” Andrus said.
“I’m concerned about his safety. Everything is running through my mind
about what could have happened.”
She said while she doesn’t think Seth would harm himself, she doesn’t know what his state of mind could be.
Andrus asked that anyone with any information to please contact the Wapakoneta Police Department at 419-738-8802.
“We don’t feel there’s any wrong doing at this point in time,” said Wapakoneta Police Chief Russ Hunlock.
He said they have been following up with friends and acquaintances but so far have come up empty handed.
Despite another missing person’s report on the teen two weeks ago,
Hunlock said as they do in all cases with juveniles they began
investigating immediately upon his mother coming to them with concerns.
“When we’re talking about juveniles we like to get the ball rolling as soon as possible,” Hunlock said.
