Lemont Police are working with Chicago detectives in their search for a 14-year-old girl who has been missing from Chicago for more than a week.

Michelle Green, 14, has been missing since Sept. 23, according to police. She was last seen in the 7800 block of South Morgan Street, according to a missing juvenile release.

Green frequents the area near the 7800 block of South Carpenter Street, and could also be in the Lemont area, police said.

The alert describes Green as black, 5-foot 1-inches tall, 128 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. No clothing description was provided.

“We've advised all our officers to be on lookout for the young girl," said Lemont Police Chief Kevin Shaughnessy.

As of 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Shaughnessy did not have any other information. Lemont Police do not know if the girl has any family living in town, Shaughnessy added.

Shortly after Lemont Police joined in the search for a 14-year-old girl from Chicago's South Side, the girl was found safe in Chicago, authorities said.

Lemont Police began working with Chicago detectives yesterday afternoon in a search for Michelle Green, 14, who had been missing since Sept. 23, according to police.

The girl was found unharmed early this morning in Chicago, said Lemont Police Chief Kevin Shaughnessy.

According to missing juvenile release circulated Thursday, Green frequented the area near the 7800 block of South Carpenter Street, and could also be in the Lemont area.

Green has an aunt living in Lemont, which is the reason the local police were alerted, Shaughnessy said.

“We've advised all our officers to be on lookout for the young girl," Shaugnessy said Thursday evening.

Hours later, the girl was found by Chicago Police.
