"Toddler John Doe" - 2 yo - Accused: Arsenio Harris - Richmond VA

A Richmond toddler is recovering after being severely beaten inside an Richmond apartment.The two-year-old boy was rushed to the hospital after being found inside a Chamberlayne Avenue apartment.The boyfriend of the child's mother, 21-year-old Arsenio Harris, is now facing malicious wounding charges. Police sources said the suspect allegedly beat and burned the toddler, leaving him with significant injuries.The boy's mother claims that the suspect told her the child fell off of a bed."They did exams and said my child never fell," said the mother, who did not wish to be identified. "these are bruises like he has been abused."In addition to showing signs he had been beaten, the victim also had cigarette burns on his body.The child was released from the hospital Monday into the custody of Social Services. The child's mother will appear in court Tuesday, and hopes to bring him home.
