Police: 3-month-old baby safely home again after being snatched from mother's arms
BOYNTON BEACH — A 3-month-old baby who was snatched from her mother's arms Monday night, is safely home again, Boynton Beach police report.
Details of the Z'Yanna Wright's recovery are expected later this morning.
Police say the baby was taken by her father, Daniel Leonard Wright, after fighting with the baby's mother.
Police are still searching for Wright, 37, who they say showed up at the mother's home in the 600 block of Second Avenue at 8 p.m. Monday.
Wright got in a fight with his ex-girlfriend, Kindsey Schildt, "smacked Schildt in the face" and snatched the baby out of the woman's hands, according to information in the Boynton Beach media briefing log and information issued by spokeswoman Stephanie Slater.
The mother has sole custody of the baby.
Wright did not have a car seat, nor any formula or diapers for her, Slater said.
He faces charges of parental abduction and child neglect.

Re: Z'YANNA WRIGHT - 3 Months - Boynton Beach FL
Authorities continue to search for the man who snatched his 3-month-old baby from her mother's arms, threatened that the mother would never see her again and then clandestinely returned the child hours later in a manner more befitting cloak-and-dagger movies than real-life crime.Daniel Leonard Wright, 37, faces charges of false imprisonment, child neglect and interfering with custody, after Boynton Beach police say he showed up at his ex-girlfriend's home last night and snatched the baby away - taking off without a car seat, formula or diapers for the infant.Kindsey Schildt called police about 10:45 p.m. Monday to say Wright had come to her home on Southeast Second Avenue about 8 p.m. She said they fought and he grabbed the girl from her arms, according to Boynton Beach Police spokeswoman Stephanie Slater. He drove off in a black four-door 2003 BMW 7 series with the Florida tags LKEY2, Slater reports.Schildt, 24, told police she had sole custody of the child. She also said she tried to find the child herself before calling them, driving to Wright's home at 1207 Mahogany Drive to see if baby and father were there. They weren't. But later that evening Schildt said that Wright called her from Florida's Turnpike and told her "she would never see her child again," Slater wrote in a release issued to the media this morning.According to police, Wright has an "extensive" history of violent criminal behavior. It was after this call that police contacted the Florida Department of Law Enforcement requesting an Amber alert be issued for the baby, Z'Yanna .Wright called Schildt again about 4 a.m. today. He told her that he would bring the baby to her and that "she should start walking toward Woolbright Road.""Schildt told police that she left her house and walked south on Federal Highway. She remained on the phone with Wright, and as she walked, an unknown man drove up next to her and told her to get in the car. Wright also told her to get in the car and that that man would bring her to the baby," Slater wrote."Schildt told police that she got in the car and was taken to an unknown location in Delray Beach where another unknown man handed Z'Yanna to her," Slater wrote.Mother and child were dropped off at a drive-through convenience store in the 200 block of South Federal Highway in Boynton Beach.Schildt said she didn't recognize any of the men involved in the transaction, she didn't know what kind of car she was in or where she went in Delray Beach.Boynton Beach police continue to investigate the incident.Anyone with information about Wright's whereabouts is urged to call Boynton Beach Police at 561-742-6035 or Crime Stoppers of Palm Beach County at 800-458-TIPS. You can remain anonymous. Tips can also be submitted via www.bbpd.org.
