Police are seeking the public’s help in locating a missing girl they believe might have run away from home with a 29-year-old Culpeper man.
Ginger Frances Meadows, 17, a junior at Eastern View High School, was last seen Oct. 29 at the Culpeper Comfort Inn, according to Detective Sue Stewardson of the Culpeper Police Department.
Stewardson said Meadows may be with Van T. Stringfellow Jr., an independent tree worker who drives an older model Ford pickup truck. She added that Meadows got on a school bus Oct. 27 but never went to EVHS or her part-time job at Taco Bell.
Stewardson said Stringfellow would often wait for Meadows in the EVHS parking lot and drive her home from school. The detective believes the teen left with Stringfellow after she got off the bus that morning.
“Foul play is not suspected at this time,” Stewardson said.
Meadows has lived in Culpeper for about two years. She is 5 feet, 3 inches tall and weighs about 120 pounds; she has blue eyes and brown hair and sometimes wears glasses. Stewardson said Meadows’ family called police to report her missing.
Stringfellow is 6 feet tall and weighs about 200 pounds; he has brown hair and brown eyes. In a booking mug from September 2005, he is pictured with extensive facial hair, but police say he might now be clean-shaven.
Stewardson said staff at the Comfort Inn last saw the pair Oct. 29 at separate times; Meadows was in the hotel lobby and Stringfellow in his room.
The detective believes the two have known each other for about two months, meeting at Taco Bell.
A search of court records shows Stringfellow has an extensive history of traffic violations and failure-to-appear charges in and around Culpeper. He is not listed as a sex offender.
According to Stewardson, Meadows has never run away before and would not face charges if she returns.
Stringfellow, however, would be charged with misdemeanor contributing to the delinquency of a minor if the pair ran away consensually; otherwise, he could face felony kidnapping charges, among others.

Re: GINGER FRANCES MEADOWS - 17 yo - Culpeper (SW of Washington) VA
November 8, 2010 On Monday, Culpeper police and Fauquier County sheriff's deputies found Ginger Meadows, who was reported missing on October 27, along with Van T. Stringfellow Jr., the man suspected of being with her. Family members reported they last saw the 17 year old on the morning of October 27th when she got on a school bus, but Meadows did not report to school or to her after school job that day. A Culpeper detective and Fauquier sheriff’s deputies found Meadows and Stringfellow in a room at a Fauquier County motel around noon. Meadows was returned to Culpeper where she was turned over to family members. Stringfellow now faces a misdemeanor charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He was also charged with failure to appear in Culpeper General District Court in an unrelated matter. Stringfellow is also being held in Fauquier County as a fugitive from Maryland, where he is wanted on a fraud charge. Culpeper police expect to charge a second person with obstruction of justice in the missing teen’s case.http://www.newsplex.com/home/headlines/Culpeper_Police_Search_For_Missing_Teen_106801918.html
