Police Say Woman Was Drunk, Truck Had Flat Tires

OKLAHOMA CITY -- A drunken woman led police in a chase with three kids in her damaged truck, Oklahoma City police said.Police said they responded to a call of a truck with flat tires and pieces falling from it driving along South Meridian Avenue on Dec. 3.The police report was released on Thursday. It said that after an officer attempted to pull the truck over, the driver sped and refused to stop while swerving on the road.A police helicopter was dispatched to help police follow the truck, the report said.After repeated attempts to evade police, the report said, the truck hit a curb after striking a police cruiser.Police said they went to arrest the driver and noticed three children in the truck crying.The children, ages 8, 6 and 5, told police they wanted to get out of the driver’s truck because they were afraid. Police said the children were taken to an area hospital to be looked over for injuries.Police said the driver, 27-year-old Alicia Diane Petross, was intoxicated and arrested her on charges of three counts of child endangerment, eluding an officer, driving under the influence and other traffic violations.The children were placed in the custody of their grandmother. It wasn’t stated in the report if the driver was the children’s mother.
