Grady County sheriff's deputies are looking for a Blanchard woman
charged with manslaughter after the baby she was taking care of was
found dead.Papers from the Grady County courthouse stated that
Kasey Duverney, 27, put her boyfriend's 7-month-old child, Trevor, in a
bed, but later found him turning blue and not breathing.If convicted, Duverney faces up to four years in jail, the Sheriff's Office said.The boy's mother, Melinda Heidling, said she has a lot of questions."It should not have happened. He shouldn't have been in that bed. I didn't know about that bed," she said.She said Trevor was sleeping in a bed designed for adults, not babies."Every day he was so happy and learning and smart," Heidling said. "I mean, there wasn't anybody who didn't like him."Court documents said the boy was found stuck between the bed railing and mattress."It has been very hard. I just want to know what happened, exactly what happened," Heidling said.Elizabeth Murdy, who lives down the street from Duverney's house, said she never thought anything was going on.“It's sad. I feel for her very much since I lost my son,” Murdy said. “It's not easy to lose any child.”The Sheriff's Office said Duverney's mugshot is not available because she hasn't been taken into custody yet.The Sheriff's Office said it has made an arrangement for Duverney to turn herself in.

Sheriff Recalls Arrest Warrant For Kasey Duverney, 27DA Reviews Charges In Blanchard Baby's Death
BLANCHARD, Okla. -- The Grady County
Sheriff's Office has recalled the arrest warrant for a 27-year-old
Blanchard woman charged in the death of her boyfriend's son.

The Sheriff's Office said Kasey Duverney is charged with manslaughter and
child neglect for the death of her boyfriend's 7-month-old son, Trevor
Heidling. Authorities, however, have placed the warrant on hold while
Grady County District Attorney Jason Hicks reviews the file and decides
whether to drop the charges against Duverney.“We're going to dig through
them and do what's right in these particular cases to seek justice,” Hicks said.The
Sheriff's Office concluded several months ago that the child's death
was an accident. Investigators said the child died in his sleep while
spending the night during visitation with his dad at Duverney's house.Court
documents indicated that the child's mother, Melinda Heidling, asked
Duverney if she had a proper bed for the boy to sleep in, to which
Duverney said, "Yes."“I just want to know what happened. He
shouldn't have been in that bed. I didn't know about that bed,” Heidling
said. “I know it won't bring him back, but I know I need to help other
people so this doesn't happen (again).”Hicks said he has a large file to
go through and more investigation is necessary before making a final decision about charges.
