1-yr-old severely beaten by mother's boyfriend

SAVANNAH, GA
(WTOC) - Police said a one-year-old little girl suffered a blow to the
head, had bleeding on the brain, and bruises all over her body from her mother's boyfriend.
For now she remains at Memorial University
Medical Center but her mother told WTOC she is now able to keep some
food down. But doctors plan to keep the little girl there for a few more days.
Savannah-Chatham Metro Police have charged the mother's boyfriend, Michael Carlton, with cruelty to children.
Police said Carlton was watching the one year
old while her mom was at work. Investigators say the boyfriend denied
it at first, telling them the one year old was hitting herself in her crib.
Doctors suspect the baby was thrown head first onto the ground.
The little girl is breathing on her own, and at this point doctors don't think she suffered brain damage.
