THE victim in the death probe at Raigmore Hospital in Inverness is a child.

And police are believed to be treating the incident as murder.

Large areas at the rear of the hospital have been cordoned off.

Police are currently refusing to give further details of the victim.

The body was found as searches were carried out in the hospital and grounds overnight after a missing persons alert.

A police spokesman said that at 10pm last night they received a report from a member of the public at the hospital that a woman and a child were missing.

Five hours later following extensive searches, the woman was found safe and well.

However shortly afterwards the body of the child was found on land at the rear of the hospital.

A police spokesman said the death is being treated as suspicious and they are currently following a positive line of enquiry.

Cordons are in place in the Raigmore area whilst investigations are carried out. However, police stress that Raigmore Hospital is fully open.

When I first posted this I thought it was Inverness Florida. Instead of moving it, someone deleted it, without the courtesy of even telling me.

I didn't delete it...I moved it to Great Britain Cases. A copy of it remains there. Again, on behalf of my left cortex, I am sorry.
