Like finding manna on the ground, we receive a daily serving of justice from the Ninth Judicial Court of Florida in the form of a righteous ruling. Yesterday’s serving came in the form of a denial to the defense’s motion to exclude any evidence pertaining to chloroform levels in the trunk, as well as testimony about searches on the Anthony desktop for chloroform and how to make it.
If you’ll recall this defense motion is where Jose Baez claimed law enforcement had intentionally leaked to the media that Dr. Vass, at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, had found unusually high levels of chloroform in the trunk liner of Casey’s car and that the FBI had confirmed high levels of chloroform. He then went on to claim that these two statements made in the media were ABSOLUTELY 100% FALSE (obnoxious bolded all-caps from original motion). It appears, in the words of Judge Perry, the court “remained unpersuaded”.
