Missing 15-year-old Oakland girl gone for three weeks

OAKLAND -- Police are asking for the public's help locating a 15-year-old
Oakland girl who was last seen three weeks ago when she left for school.

She never returned home from the alternative school she attended in North Oakland that day, Aug. 31, police said.
Sade Sweetwyne has one previous report on file with Oakland police for
running away, but in that instance, she returned the following day.
She was last seen wearing a yellow shirt, white jacket and cream colored
skirt. The girl is described as African-American with a dark complexion,
black hair and brown eyes. She is 5 feet tall and weighs about 120 lbs.

Police have reason to believe she may be in Oakland or Berkeley.
Police spokeswoman Sgt. Holly Joshi said her family has received
unconfirmed sightings of her in Berkeley but police do not have any solid leads.

found safe by Alameda police Wednesday evening, police said.
Details
about where Sade Sweetwyne has been and what she has been doing were
not immediately available. She was last seen leaving for her North
Oakland school on Aug. 31.
Alameda police called Oakland police about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, alerting officers the girl had been found.
The
teen had one previous report on file with Oakland police for running
away, but in that instance, she returned the following day.
