"Toddler Jane Doe" - 2 yo - Oakland CA

Police have arrested an East Oakland woman after officers found her 2-year-old daughter covered with bruises this afternoon.Officers were called to the 3100 block of Lynde Street about 2:20 p.m. by a report of a woman acting erratically, police said. They found a 45-year-old woman outside her apartment, screaming and yelling. She told officers that her child was inside the residence.Police found the girl inside the apartment. The child had many bruises and a bite mark on her chest. police said.The girl has been hospitalized. No word on her condition was immediately available.The mother was arrested on suspicion of willful cruelty to a child.Several other children live in the apartment and police believe they were at school. They will be placed in protective custody.
