AISHA KHAN - 19 yo - Overland Park KS
The Overland Park Police Department is actively looking for Aisha Khan, a student reported missing Friday.
Khan
is a student at Johnson Community College, but she was reported missing
from the KU Edwards Campus in Overland Park. Police searched a wooded
area near the campus Saturday afternoon. They said it wasn't a tip that
lead them to the area but rather an "abundance of caution".
She was last seen in the area of 126th Street and Quivira Road. She is 19 years old, 5'2, 120 lbs, with dark brown hair and brown eyes. She may or may not be wearing glasses.
She
was last seen Friday around 10:58 a.m. wearing black sweat pants, a
yellow and black shirt, black head scarf, black regular length jacket,
and a long outer jacket that is black and white.
Please
contact the Overland Park Police Department at 913-344-8703, or the
TIPS HOTLINE at 816-474-TIPS if you believe you have seen her.

Family offers $10,000 reward in search for missing JCCC student
Aisha Khan
A $10,000 reward is now being offered for
information in the search for a Johnson County College student who was
reported missing Friday.
Dozens of volunteers worked throughout
Sunday in the effort to find 19-year-old Aisha Khan. The search began at
midday Friday when she was reported missing from the University of
Kansas Edwards campus in Overland Park.
“We need everybody to be
thinking about Aisha all of the time,” said her uncle Adil Sheikh, one
of many out-of-town relatives who have traveled to the Kansas City area.
Late Friday morning Khan called and sent text messages to relatives saying
that she had slapped an intoxicated stranger who was harassing her.
A short time later her sister who had gone to the campus at 127th Street
and Quivira Road to give her a ride found her unattended book bag and cell phone.
Besides the volunteet effort, an Overland Park police
spokesman said Sunday that about 30 officers were involved in the investigation.
About 15,000 flyers have been printed and
volunteers have been passing them out and canvassing the neighborhoods
surrounding the campus.
Khan was studying for finals at the Edwards location, but she is actually a student at Johnson County Community College.
Besides the efforts on the ground, Khan’s uncle said they are utilizing
Facebook and Twitter to disseminate information. The Facebook page “Help
Find Aisha Khan” had accumulated more than 5,500 “likes” as of Sunday evening.
The family is offering the reward for information leading to her whereabouts, he said.
“We are appealing for leads and cooperation from the community,” Sheikh said.
Khan is 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighs about 120 pounds. She has brown eyes
and dark brown hair. She was last seen wearing a yellow and black
shirt, black sweat pants and a black head scarf. She may have also been
wearing glasses. She was wearing a black jacket beneath a longer black and white coat.
Anyone with information is asked to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (874-474-8477).

Aisha Khan Missing: Student Disappears After Altercation With Drunken Stranger
The search for a missing 19-year-old Kansas woman -- last heard from
via frightful text message that said a drunken man was pestering her --
yielded few promising leads over the weekend.
Aisha Khan,
a student at Johnson County Community College, went missing at
approximately 11:00 a.m. Friday morning while studying for her final
exams on the University of Kansas, Edwards Campus, The Kansas City Star reports.
"There's a creepy guy that just came up to me, and he was harassing me," Aisha wrote in a text message, according to Faiza Khan, her older sister. To get the man to back off, Khan slapped him, according to the message she sent her sister.
A contingent of volunteers and at least 30 police officers spent much
of the weekend searching for the missing student, who the family
believes was abducted by the unknown man that accosted her.
Khan's cell phone and backpack were found on a picnic table near campus, KMBC reports.
A Facebook group dedicated to her search describes Khan as 5 feet 2 inches tall, 120 pounds with dark brown hair, brown eyes, and glasses. There is also a Twitter feed following the search for Khan.
A $10,000 reward being offered as incentive for any information leading to Khan's safe recovery.
"We need everybody to be thinking about Aisha all of the time," said her uncle Adil Sheikh, according to The Kansas City Star.

(CBS/KCTV) OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - Local residents are being asked
to search their property for signs of missing Kansas student Aisha Khan.
She was last heard from Friday when she left a frantic voicemail for
her sister saying that she was running away from a man on the University
of Kansas-Edwards campus. Khan's family has offered a $10,000
reward for information leading to her whereabouts. Also, the FBI, local
volunteers and Gregg and Missy Smith - whose daughter Kelsey was
snatched from an Overland Park Target parking lot four years ago and
later found murdered - are all helping in the search effort, according
to the Kansas City Star.
Meanwhile, Marla Hansen of Missing Missouri, Inc., told CBS affiliate KCTV that she suggests residents in the metro area search their property because Khan was wearing jewelry that someone may recognize.
"Take
a look at your back yard. If there is property that you can't see, go
back and walk through it - creek beds, old sheds," she said. "Any of
those things could have been dropped."
Khan was last heard from
Friday when she left a message for her sister saying that she was
running away from a drunk man who was apparently harassing her.
Overland
Park Police Chief John Douglass said that on the voicemail message Khan
left, "You hear her say he may have tried to kiss her or something like
that, and she hit him and ran away," reported the Kansas City Star.
When Khan's sister arrived to pick her up, she found Aisha's bookbag and cell phone abandoned.
There
were no security cameras in the area of the University of
Kansas-Edwards campus where Khan was last seen, but a spokesperson told
KCTV that the university has plans to add cameras in the future.
