"Newborn John Doe" - 5 Months/ Accused: Bryan Perrin - Greenville SC

A baby sitter's husband is accused of shaking and hitting a baby boy,
causing serious injuries, according to the Greenwood County Sheriff’s
Office.Deputies were called to Self Regional Hospital emergency
room on Friday where doctors said the 5-month-old baby had injuries
consistent with child abuse, according to a police report.Doctors
said the baby had a bruised eye, ear and leg, and a severe head injury
that caused bleeding on his brain. He was airlifted to Greenville
Memorial Hospital.EMS had brought the baby to the Self Regional
emergency room after he stopped breathing while in the care of Tonya
Antoinette Perrin, 35, and her husband, Bryan Jamaal Perrin, 28,
according to the police report.The police report said the baby’s
mother noticed the infant’s eye injury, but said she was told by the
Perrins that it was a broken blood vessel caused by excessive crying
during the day.The mother said she did not notice anything else wrong with the baby, so she took him back to the Perrins the next day.The
mother said she got a text message from Tonya Perrin that morning
telling her to call as soon as possible. The mother told deputies that
when she returned the call just after noon, Perrin told her that the
child had been crying all morning but had finally gone to sleep.The
police report said that Perrin called back about 10 minutes later, and
told the mother she called 911 because the baby had stopped breathing.After
talking with doctors, deputies questioned the Perrins. They said Bryan
Perrin admitted shaking the baby and hitting him on the leg.Perrin is charged with unlawful conduct toward a child. Perrin was released on $25,000 bond.
